Jill Peleuses will be the guest presenter at the Museum of Coastal Carolina’s Sand Bar Lecture Series June 21 at 6 pm, co-sponsored by OIB Surf & Java. Her program is titled Birds of Southeast North Carolina. Southeastern NC is located along the Atlantic Flyway and is a haven for many different bird species. Learn how to identify spring migrants, backyard birds, shorebirds, and resident songbirds during nesting season.
Jill Peleuses has been an avid birder for years. She and her husband, Pete, have owned Wild Bird & Garden in Wilmington since 2006. In 2014, they opened a second location in Southport. Jill has an undergraduate degree in Environmental Studies from UNCW and an MPA Masters in Public Administration with a Natural Resources Management concentration, also from UNCW. Throughout her schooling she focused on bird studies. She has taught birding programs for OLLI at UNCW for 3 ½ years. She works closely with Cape Fear Audubon and is also a volunteer there.
