Brookgreen Gardens Presents Cool Summer Evenings

Enjoy Brookgreen Gardens in the cool of the evening when the gardens remain open until 9 p.m. on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays  through August 7. Wednesday and Friday evenings, music fills the air with outdoor concerts, evening boat rides, and on Thursday evenings, there are special programs just for kids. Entertainment and programs are included in garden admission.  Here is the entertainment schedule for the week of July 22-24.

7 p.m. Wednesday July 22 – Prettier Than Matt (Folk, Pop) their sound is a lively Rock/Folk/Pop blend.

Thursday, July 23– Family Night

5:00 p.m. Evening Bed Check with the Animals – Join Zoo staff and volunteers for an end-of-day special tour of the zoo. Some of the animals may even get one final treat for the day!

6:00 p.m. Story Time in the “Enchanted Storybook Forest” – Each week, storyteller Donna Catton-Johnson brings classic and some new stories to enchant our young audiences.

5:00, 6:00 & 7:00 p.m.  A Pirate’s Journey Along The Creeks – Come aboard our pontoon boat and journey back in time to the exciting days when colorful pirates traveled through our Carolina waterways. The pirate boat ride is Thursday evenings only. (Tickets required – $8 adults, $4 children. Same day purchase only at Wall Lowcountry Center)

7 p.m. Friday, July 24 – Barefoot Movement (Bluegrass) all the worries and frustrations of the world melt away as the charming four-piece acoustic band takes listeners back to a simpler place and time. Whether you’re seeking emotional ballads or rip-roaring barn-burners, you can expect music that offers something for everyone.

Food service is available all three evenings. Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets to Wednesday and Friday performances. The Lowcountry Trail, the Zoo, Butterfly House, and Enchanted Storybook Forest close at 7 p.m. Pontoon boat rides are available all three evenings at 5, 6 & 7 p.m. (additional fee applies). Special Pirate Boat Tour is Thursday evenings only.
