During this time, she realized her true passion was to create her own artwork, so she traded her grade books for an easel. After receiving a number of instructional books on jewelry making, she was inspired to shape recycled materials, metals and natural stones into wearable art.

Today, as a jewelry designer, Franich incorporates precious and semi-precious metals with natural and faceted gemstones in her forged and wire-wrapped creations. According to the artist, she uses both hot and cold forging to obtain the different looks she want. A rolling mill adds textured imprints to the metal. Franich designs delicate feminine jewelry with a decidedly organic feel. Her Boyfriend Collection bracelets add suede and leather for contrast. Her metals include 14K gold fill, sterling, fine silver, and copper.
