Fall Programs at the Museum of Coastal Carolina

The Museum of Coastal Carolina begins its fall season on September 8, 2016. From September 8 through December 31, 2016 the Museum will be open from 10-3 Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. Additional open days are Dec. 26-28. The museum will be closed on Oct. 14, Nov. 24, and Dec. 24.

The Museum’s fall schedule of events will begin September 8:

On Fridays at 11:00, visitors are invited to join museum docents as they feed the live animals in the museum’s touch tank and aquariums.

On Saturdays at 11:00, the museum resumes its popular Story Time and Puppet Programs for Preschoolers. Families with preschoolers are invited to sit back and enjoy puppet plays and stories about marine animals. Therapy dogs from Canine Angels will join Story Time on Sept. 10, Oct. 8, Nov. 12 and Dec. 10.

–October 8, 11:00– Story Time and Puppet Programs (joined by therapy dogs from Canine Angels)

–October 15, 11:00—Interactive Train Show

–October 22, 11:00—Build A Bridge

–October 29, 11:00—Pumpkin Painting & “Trunk or Treat” Activities

–November 5, 11:00—Wreath Making Traditions (Pre-registration supply fee required)

–November 12, 11:00– Story Time and Puppet Programs (joined by therapy dogs from Canine Angels)

November 19, 11:00—Hunting and Survival Skills of Native Americans

November 26, 11:00—Recycled Art Contest Show (Drop off November 10 through November 18)

December 3, 11:00—Scout Day-Robotics Are Fun!

December 10, 11:00– Story Time and Puppet Programs (joined by therapy dogs from Canine Angels)

December 17, 11:00—Spiny Lobsters

December 31, 11:00—Gyotaku Fish Printing

This fall, the museum resumes its monthly 6 PM Tuesday night lecture series (opens at 5:00 pm)

–November 15—Archaeology at Colonial Brunswick with Jim McKee

–December 6—American Civil War Corps Commander with Doug Elliott

Nov. 25 – 5-8 PM – Beer & Brats Fundraiser – Admission: $30 adults, $15 age 12 and under

Dec. 22 & 23 – 10 AM-2 PM – Holiday Make-and-Take Gifts

 

On September 9, the museum opens a new art exhibit in the Coastal Gallery called “At Pond’s Edge” by artist Nathan Beard.
