Long Bay Symphony Presents Romantic Blockbusters

sebastianBaverstam-playing-lgThe Long Bay Symphony presents Romantic Blockbusters featuring Sebastian Bäverstam, cello on Sunday, March 10, 2013 at 4:00 p.m. at Myrtle Beach High School Music & Arts Center. A program of some of the best-loved masterworks from the Romantic period:
Rossini William Tell Overture, Saint-Saëns Cello Concerto No. 1, and Brahms Symphony No. 1. In addition, the concert will feature the world premiere of a commission from local composer and Coastal Carolina University faculty member, Donald Sloan, in celebration of the symphonies 25th Anniversary season. The composition takes its title from a Longfellow poem ” …the waves that break upon the idle seashore of the mind”.

A Symphony Soiree featuring the guest artist will be held at the Franklin G. Burroughs – Simeon B. Chapin Art Museum on Saturday, March 9, 2013 at 6:00 p.m. Sebastian Bäverstam will present a short concert followed by a wine and cheese reception. Tickets are $35 and seating is limited.
