Auctions America signs on as the official auction house
of the 2015 Hilton Head Island Motoring Festival & Concours d’Elegance

Auctions America announced the newest addition to its 2015 schedule of events, a collector car auction on Hilton Head Island as part of the Hilton Head Island Motoring Festival & Concours d’Elegance. The sale, featuring approximately 100 investment-grade vehicles, will be held on Saturday, Oct. 31, at the Motoring Festival’s host hotel, The Westin Hilton Head Island Resort & Spa.Event photo 1 - Courtesy of Auctions America

Auctions America is the latest automotive leader to select South Carolina for business expansion. The company joins Motoring Festival partners such as BMW, which is celebrating its 20th anniversary of manufacturing in South Carolina, and Volvo, which recently announced South Carolina as the location of its first American manufacturing facility.Event photo 2 - Courtesy of Auctions America

“With our world-class ports and competitive business environment, South Carolina has quickly become a top destination for companies in the automotive industry,” said Governor Nikki Haley. “The Hilton Head Island Motoring Festival celebrates the diversity and heritage of this industry, and we welcome Auctions America to our state.”

The new Auctions America event will see a carefully curated collection of rare and important automobiles cross the auction stage this Halloween on Hilton Head Island. From American classics to European sports cars, the offering will span the spectrum of the market, shining a spotlight on a broad variety of automotive styling and engineering. Early feature attractions include: a one-owner 1984 Ferrari 512 BBi, just 3,000 kilometers from new (Est. $375,000 – $425,000); and a 1957 Ford Thunderbird F-Code, superbly restored to national prize-winning standards and loaded with factory accessories (Est. $175,000 – $225,000).

“Whether you like to watch, bid or buy, there’s nothing quite as thrilling as a live collector car auction and we expect the Auctions America event will be a highlight of this year’s festival,” said Carolyn Vanagel, president of the Hilton Head Island Motoring Festival. “With over 20,000 anticipated visitors and an amazing selection of cars guaranteed, we encourage collector car enthusiasts to make their attendance plans as early as possible.”

Donnie Gould, president of Auctions America adds, “We are thrilled to partner with the Hilton Head Island Motoring Festival and Concours d’Elegance as we continue to expand our national footprint. The Motoring Festival is a perfect fit with our existing events calendar, both in terms of its timing, as well as its location; Auctions America specializes in hosting events in some of the country’s leading automotive destinations, and Hilton Head Island is certainly a hub for collector car enthusiasts. This new sale will provide an exciting close to our 2015 season.”

In addition to the auction, other new events to the Motoring Festival schedule include:

  • The inaugural Flights & Fancy Aeroport Gala on Friday, Oct. 30, including a special preview of select auction vehicles.
  • The Aero Expo on Saturday, Oct. 31, featuring vintage aircraft paired with Concours-caliber cars of the same era.
