Seventh Annual Myrtle Beach Mini Marathon

The Myrtle Beach Mini Marathon Weekend returns to the Grand Strand with events October 22-23.  The Mini Marathon itself is 13.1 miles and is being held on Sunday, October 23.  The weekend includes a two-day Health and Fitness Expo, a Coastal 5K, a one-mile Doggie Dash and Sunday’s Mini Marathon.  For registration, visithttp://www.runmyrtlebeach.com.

Turkey Trot 2015 on Hilton Head Island

The Island Recreation Center’s 2015 Turkey Trot, presented by Go Tri Sports, is filling up fast! This race is November 26, 2015, at 8:00 am, starting from 397 Squire Pope Road.

The Turkey Trot is a 5K, 10K and Fun Walk that begins  in front of the Chart House  and winds through Hilton Head Plantation with a turn around back to the finish line at the Chart House parking lot. For participants’ safety, when starting the race, runners should be towards the starting line, and walkers behind. Strollers are permitted, but must start in back. No pets, please!

Packet Pick-up is Wednesday, November 25th at the Island Rec Center from 10:00 am-6:00 pm or on Race Day: Thursday, November 26th at race location from 6:30-7:30 am. Parking available in the parking lot off of Hudson Road.

The Hilton Head Island Recreation Association is partnering with Deep Well Project to collect nonperishable food items for their food pantry. Please consider bringing a nonperishable food item to Packet Pick-up on Wednesday, November 25th or on Race Day on Thursday, November 26th.

MB Marathon Offers Reduced Entry Fees Through January 1, 2016

To take advantage of the discounted entry fees for the 2016 event, visit www.mbmarathon.com. Registration for all race events will increase on January 2, 2016. Race weekend includes the Myrtle Beach area’s only full marathon, a half marathon, marathon team relay, 5K and 1 mile fun run.

The 18th Annual MyrtleBeach.com Myrtle Beach Marathon was a huge success drawing over ten thousand running enthusiasts, family members and friends to the Grand Strand over Valentine’s Day weekend. Planning for the 19th year of Myrtle Beach’s first and longest running major endurance event is under way and we expect this incredible community event to continue its growth in 2016!

Friday the 13th Neon Night Race

The MyrtleBeach.com Myrtle Beach Marathon is hosting a Friday the 13th Neon Night race like you’ve never seen  in Myrtle Beach!

Starting at Broadway at the Beach at 7:00pm, thousands of runners of all activity levels will be wearing glow-in-the-dark race shirts and sporting Myrtle Beach Marathon runner’s headlamps to light their 5K trek through the darkness notorious for blanketing Friday the 13th activities. The LED headlamps and glowing shirts will form a 3.1 mile “river of light” that will be extraordinary to participate in or witness as a spectator. After finishing, neon wands will help light the night sky while our runners enjoy front row access to live entertainment from BULLFROG.

It is not too late! Online registration is open through February 10th at www.mbmarathon.com or participants can register at the HTC Runner’s EXPO on Thursday, February 12th until 9pm and Friday, February 13th until 4pm.

MYRTLE BEACH MARATHON ANNOUNCES NEW TEAM RELAY EVENT FOR 2014

Running 26.2 miles doesn’t interest you?

Be a part of the NEW Marathon Team Relay (where you’re guaranteed to have at least one person cheer for you)! The MyrtleBeach.com Myrtle Beach Marathon announces a big change for the 2014 race weekend. The city’s first and longest running major endurance event is expanding the event calendar with a marathon team relay slated for Saturday, February 15, 2014. A marathon team relay is a great way to share in this amazing achievement with friends, family, co-workers, etc.

Size of teams: 2,3,4 or 5 people can form a relay team
Relay mile exchanges: Mile 4, Mile 10, Mile 16, Mile 20
Length of relay legs: 4 miles, 6 miles, 6 miles, 4 miles, 6.2 miles
Registration limit: 300 teams

Military Appreciation Days 5K

The 5K Run/Walk is part of the Military Appreciation Days observance in Myrtle Beach.

Sign up now for this 5K Run on Ocean Boulevard and the Boardwalk!

The race begins at 7:30 a.m., Saturday, May 25, 2013, at Plyler Park.
