Says Lassiter, “We’ve had a similar show for the past couple years and people love seeing how the rustic pieces work with traditional furniture and design. We have a lot of fun putting it together. And it’s a terrific way to display the holiday pottery, which is in demand every year.” She continues, “The gallery also puts up an eight-foot tree full of hand-crafted ornaments – clay, blown glass, wood, sea glass and more. The kids love choosing their ornaments right from the tree.”

Inaugural Dustin Johnson World Junior Golf Championship to be Played Feb. 13-15 in Myrtle Beach, S.C.

90-Player Event Will Attract a Global Field

Founders Group International, the Dustin Johnson Golf School and Myrtle Beach Beach Golf Holiday announce the inaugural Dustin Johnson World Junior Golf Championship, a 54-hole tournament that will be played February 13-15 at TPC Myrtle Beach.

The invitational event will feature a 90-player field comprised of elite-level boys and girls from across the globe. More information on the tournament, including eligibility criteria, is available at www.WorldJuniorGolfChampionship.com.

With the support of Johnson, one of top 10 players in the world, the tournament will provide participants a PGA Tour-like experience, and the chance to test themselves against their peers from others part of America and the world.

TPC Myrtle Beach, a former host of the Senior PGA Tour Championship, has been ranked among America’s 100 Greatest Public Courses and will provide a tour-level challenge and participant amenities.

The February date, which takes advantage of Myrtle Beach’s sub-tropical climate, provides juniors a chance to jump-start their 2016 season on President’s Day weekend.

“Junior golf was vital to my development as a player, and I’m excited to help launch an event that will grow into one of the nation’s premier tournaments,” said Johnson. “I lived in Myrtle Beach for nearly 10 years and still consider the area home, so I know it’s an ideal host for the event. I’ve played TPC Myrtle Beach more than any other course, and it will offer our players a great challenge.”

“We are thrilled to be partnering with Dustin Johnson, one of the world’s best players, to launch the game’s next great junior event,” said Nick Dou, President of Founders Group International. “TPC Myrtle Beach, a top 100 caliber course, is an ideal host and will help us provide the best tournament experience in junior golf. We are looking forward to bringing golf’s next generation of stars to Myrtle Beach.”

“We will focus on attracting a world class field and providing Dustin Johnson World Junior Golf Championship participants an experience similar to what they will one day enjoy at high-level collegiate or even professional events,” said Allen Terrell, the director of instruction at the Dustin Johnson Golf School. “TPC Myrtle Beach is one of the best public courses in America and an ideal venue for the event.”

Johnson’s involvement with the tournament reflects his long-time commitment to junior golf, particularly in South Carolina, where he grew into one of the world’s best players. Through the Dustin Johnson Foundation, which is headquartered in Myrtle Beach, Johnson has donated more than $250,000 to junior golf, sponsoring numerous events throughout the state and helping cover entry costs for kids who need financial assistance.

TPC Myrtle Beach is owned and operated by Founders Group International, one of the game’s fastest emerging and most forward-thinking owner-operators.
